  A virtual private server or VPS is a virtual partition, with resources dedicated exclusively to you, within a physical server or a much larger server infrastructure. It allows you to host websites, online shops or applications. Unlike shared hosting, each client, each application or even each website can have dedicated resources and, therefore, all data is isolated, guaranteeing greater security and better performance. It requires basic knowledge of server administration to be able to manage the operating system and configure the applications.

• When to choose a VPS?

  It is recommended to purchase a VPS if:

  • You need more control over your hosting environment.
  • Your website or application requires more resources than those offered by shared hosting.
  • You want to install specific software or custom configurations.
  • You want a scalable solution to adapt to the growth of your project.
  • You are looking for a balance between cost and performance, as VPS are usually more affordable than, for example, dedicated servers.

• What is the difference between a Cloud Server and a VPS?

  The main differences between a VPS and a Cloud Server lie in:

  • Infrastructure:
    • VPS: A VPS is a virtual machine that runs on a dedicated physical server. It shares resources with other VPS on the same physical machine, such as CPU, RAM, and storage.
    • Cloud Server: A cloud server is part of a distributed cloud infrastructure. Resources are distributed across multiple physical servers in a highly scalable and redundant environment.
  • Flexibility:
    • VPS: The resources of a VPS are fixed and limited. If you need more resources, it is essential to migrate to another one.
    • Cloud Server: Cloud servers are highly scalable. You can increase or decrease resources as needed more flexibly, as the cloud can provide additional resources instantly.
  • Billing:
    • VPS: It is billed in a fixed way, regardless of whether you use all the resources or not.
    • Cloud Server: Billing is usually more flexible, as you only pay for the time you use the resources.

• How long will it take for my new VPS server to be available?

  Your server will be available in just a few minutes. The provisioning time does not depend on the size of the server, but on the operating system selected and the availability it has at that moment and the additional configurations that are made (change of password, adding backups...).

• What resources can I configure with VPS servers?

  In addition to choosing the server size that best suits your project, during the contracting process you will be able to choose the operating system (Windows/Linux).

• If I already have a virtual server, can I switch to a higher model?

  To switch to a higher server, you only need: Cloud Backup. This service allows you to back up your current VPS to switch to another server with more resources. In this guide, we show you step by step how to do it easily.

• What other additional features can I add to my VPS?

  With your VPS, you can also have services such as: Free SSL certificate, free domain first year, Free 10Gb Cloud Backup, additional IP and Professional Antivirus.

• Do I have root access to my VPS Server?

  Of course. At Arsys, you can access your server through an encrypted SSH connection (Linux) or via RDP (Windows) and thus have full control over all your servers.

  A KVM console is also available in the control panel to help ensure access to the server in case of firewall or network limitations for SSH or RDP connections.

• How is my VPS server billed?

  You choose the payment method that best suits your needs: you can choose bank transfer, card payment or PayPal for the first payment; being able to later change to direct debit or PayPal. Remember that you can switch from one to another at any time from your Customer Area.

• What is the payment frequency of the VPS provided by Arsys?

  You can purchase your VPS Server monthly or annually from the Arsys website. Currently, the annual contract offers a more competitive price.

• Does the VPS have a registration fee?

  No, activation is completely free.

• Is there a fixed term contract period?

  When you sign up, you will be able to select the initial duration of your subscription to the service (annual or monthly). This will be your only commitment. At the end of this period, the service will be automatically renewed for successive periods of the same duration, unless the duration of the renewal is modified or the service is cancelled, in accordance with the General Conditions of Service in force.

• How many VPS can I purchase with this promotion?

  Only 5 VPS per customer can be purchased with the promotion. Without being subject to promotion, the same client can purchase as many VPS as he/she needs.

• How does the 30-day guarantee period work?

  If you have tried the VPS Server but it wasn't what you expected, you can cancel it before 30 days have passed without having to pay anything.
